      • Judging by the visible charcoal on the Iron Chef show, I’d bet the same was true for them!

They dumped it in the trashcan and had to make another batch for their dishes.

I remember once when I was my sister made cookies but used tablespoons of salt instead of teaspoons. She was upset, but I acutally liked them.

        • I just ate them and grumbled about the grave injustice.

Lots of salt in cookies? My first thought was ick! but then I remembered how much salt you find in other treats like ice cream and salted caramel. It certainly could turn out to be nice!

      • If you experiment, I’d start with a little less than my sister did, or maybe stick some rock salt on the outside like on a pretzel.

Salt water taffy is another salty-sweet good thing.

        • Gotcha! I’ll let you know how it goes if and when I try it.

I was a huge fan of salt water taffy when I was younger, but I think I was more into the crazy colors than the taste! But what little kid isn’t enthralled by colorful treats!

  1. Good to see the self-reflection. As I’m learning to tell my 2nd grade students, some days you make bad choices but that doesn’t make you a bad person. Learn from what went wrong. Tomorrow’s another day. (I know the words are cliched, but they’re still words to live by.)
